  • What is a WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) and how do I create one?

    A WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) is essential for businesses wanting to use WhatsApp to communicate with their customers. Your customer-facing assets, namely the phone number and templates, are mapped under this WABA. When you are onboard with Plivo, a WABA is created indicating Plivo as a partner.   • What are the requirements for the number I want to use as a business phone number for my business?

    The phone number you wish to register should be able to receive a one-time password (OTP) sent via text message or a voice call. You can send messages to your customers using this number, and the same number will be visible to them on WhatsApp. You can rent a phone number from us (in the countries where we offer this option) or you can bring your own number.

  • Why is business verification with Meta critical for WhatsApp messaging, and how do I do it?

    We strongly recommend that you verify your business details with Meta to improve the chances of your WhatsApp Business Account (WABA) getting approved, get higher messaging limits, get higher phone number limits, and to get a business display name against your number.

  • How can I configure the display name against my phone number?

    The business display name is initially set up during the embedded sign-up flow. A business phone number display name is the name that appears in WhatsApp chat thread headers, chat lists, and its profile, if the following conditions are met:

     

    • The business portfolio that owns the WhatsApp Business Account associated with the business phone number has completed business verification.
    • The business phone number's name_status is APPROVED.


    Meta will reject your business phone number's name_status to DECLINED in case of non-compliance to display name guidelines. You can edit your display name and resubmit the same in case of rejections.

  • Can I migrate my phone number from my existing provider to Plivo?

    If you have registered a number with a different WhatsApp solution provider, you can migrate that number under the new WABA you create with us. Detailed requirements for this migration are listed here.
