This email is sent when Plivo’s message delivery monitoring systems detect a significant decrease in your inbound message delivery rate. In other words, Plivo is having trouble delivering incoming messages to your configured endpoint, and you may need to take action to ensure your messages are processed as intended.
Common Causes of a Drop in Inbound Delivery Rate:
- Incorrect message URL: The URL configured in your Plivo application may be invalid, misspelled, or pointing to the wrong endpoint.
- Unresponsive message URL: The server hosting your message URL may be down, experiencing an outage, or blocking requests from Plivo.
- Slow response time: If the message URL takes longer than five seconds to respond, Plivo’s requests may time out, leading to delivery failures.
How to resolve It:
- Check Your URL: Confirm that the URL is correct, reachable, and returns a valid response (e.g., HTTP 200).
- Ensure Reachability: Make sure DNS settings are correct, and firewalls or security rules aren’t blocking Plivo’s requests.
- Improve Performance: If the endpoint is slow, optimize your server or code to respond faster than five seconds.
