This trial account is provided with free credits for testing and using the same credits the user can go ahead and purchase a number by navigating here. Once we have a number and credits in the account, we are all set to start testing Plivo's voice and SMS APIs.

Below are the steps that are to be followed to successfully Sign up for a free trial account.

1. Sign up with your corporate email address

2. An activation email is trigged from Plivo. Click on the link mentioned in the email to activate the account.

3. Enter an SMS enabled, a non-VOIP number to complete the phone verification.

Plivo has certain security checks in the back end that tend to flag the sign-ups made from a public domain email address such as @gmail, @hotmail, etc. This being the reason we request all our customers to sign up using there corporate domain email address.

Activation email

An activation email is triggered by Plivo to help activate the trial account.

This email contains a link, click on that link to successfully enable the account. Unless this link is clicked, the account will remain inactive.

In case the email was not received, check the Spam or Trash folder and also check if there are any firewall settings that might be blocking the emails from Plivo.

Phone number verification

The user will have to enter a valid SMS enabled, non-VOIP number to pass through the phone verification step.

Enter a valid number and avoid adding any spaces or hyphen between the digits.

The Plivo account creation process is incomplete without the phone verification as this is a mandatory security step. In case you have entered a valid number are unable to receive a code from Plivo, the user can try to retrieve the code via a call. If both the options fail even after having tried multiple times, please reach out to our Support Team.

Once the above steps are successfully completed, we are done with the registration to a free trial account. Feel free to use the account to test our voice and SMS services!
