Getting your Plivo trial is easy. Below is a quick manual on setting up your trial account and building something amazing with Plivo.
A free trail account lets you purchase a numbers of your choice and use the same to try out international voice calls and SMS to regular phone numbers by sandboxing the numbers.
Note: Your Plivo free trial account never expires. You can go ahead and upgrade your account at any point in time to start using our services without any restrictions.
When you sign up for your Plivo free trail account you will be given free credits to experiment.
These test credits can be used to make outbound calls or send outbound messages to the numbers that have been sandboxed in your Plivo free trial account.
All Plivo accounts created are prepaid in nature. That means you will have to add credits to your account before using any of our service.
There is no validity or expiry of the credits in your account.You can use the credits to make calls or SMS for as long you would like.
There is no limit on the maximum amount of recharge that can be made or an account.
When your Plivo account goes below a certain threshold, Plivo will send out a communication notifying you to add credits so as you can continue accomplishing your goal.
To Upgrade your Plivo account to Standard you will have to make a minimum recharge of $25.
Getting a Phone Number
When you sign up for a your free Plivo Trial account, you’ll be asked to verify your phone number. This is an important and mandatory security step.
Once the phone number has been verified and if you would like to test Plivo voice and SMS service, please head here to procure your first Plivo number.
A new Plivo number will be generated with its capabilities listed along.
If the number doesn’t have the capabilities you are looking for, you can click Search for a different number to find a number that better suits your needs by the country or capabilities.
Once you have chosen your number, you’re ready to get testing!
Trial Account Limitations
These tips are very important to get the most out of your Plivo trial!
We only allow one Plivo number per trial account. To get a different phone number than the one Plivo assigned you automatically, you need to release the current number you have on the Numbers page first.
If you upgrade your account, your trial number will be carried over and charged monthly according to current Voice or SMS rates.
Voice and SMS
Outbound trial calls or Outbound SMS can only be placed to a validated phone number. Before attempting to place an outbound call, be sure to verify the number.That is Sandbox a number.
To Sandbox a number to your trial Plivo account follow the steps below:
Login to Plivo account at https://console.plivo.com/accounts/login/
Click on the account then click on Sandbox Numbers or click on the link: https://console.plivo.com/phone-numbers/
Click on "Add Sandbox Number"
Alphanumeric Sender IDs cannot be used with trial accounts.
