You can play an audio to the participant of the call using either the play API or the play XML. 


The audio file is obtained from a remote URL. Plivo supports mp3 and wav file formats.


Preferences for MP3 & WAV file which can be used are as below,


MP3:

MP3 file should be with preferences: MPEG ADTS, layer III, v1, 128 kbps, 44.1 kHz, JntStereo


WAV:

WAV file should be with preferences:- WAVE PCM, 8,000 Hz 16 bit or 11,025 Hz 16 bit PCM

1. Does Plivo process(modify) customer's audio file?
=> We don't modify the audio file before playing it.


2. What happens if .mp3 or .wav specs don't match as mentioned above? Does Plivo process that file?
=> Yes, but the quality of voice would not be as expected.


3. What happens if the mp3 is set at 193 kbps. will the audio be poor(In general)?
=> We should be able to play this file as it is, but can't guarantee the audio quality, hence it is advised to configure the file with the suggested parameters.
